The VHC175 is an advanced high-speed CMOS device fabricated on a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the low power consumption of CMOS. The VHC175 is a high-speed quad D-type flip-flop. This device is suitable for general flip-flop requirements where the clock and clear inputs are common. Information on the D input is stored during low-to-high clock transitions. Provides true and complementary outputs for each flip-flop. When LOW, the master reset input resets all flip-flops regardless of the clock or D input. An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of the supply voltage. The device can be used as an interface between 5V and 3V systems as well as two power systems such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
