Logic device/transceiver/encoder

The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HC589A is similar in function to the HC597, but is not a 3-state device. The device inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs; pull-up resistors are included for compatibility with LSTTL outputs. The device includes an 8-bit memory latch feeding parallel data to an 8-bit shift register. Data can also be loaded serially (see function table). The shift register QH is a three-state output, enabling the device to be used in bus-oriented systems. The HC589A interfaces directly with the Motorola SPI serial data ports on CMOS MPUs and MCUs.
