The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HCT573A has the same pin-out as the LS573. The device can be used as a level translator to interface TTL or NMOS outputs to high-speed CMOS inputs. This type of latch is transparent to data (that is, the output changes asynchronously) when the latch enable is high. Data that meets the setup and hold time requirements becomes latched when latch enable goes low. The output enable input does not affect the state of the latches, but all device outputs are forced to a high impedance state when output enable is high. Therefore, data can be latched even when the output is not enabled. The HCT573A is functionally identical to the HCT373A but has a data input on the opposite side of the encapsulation from the output, simplifying PC motherboard layout.

The high-performance silicon-gated CMOS MC74HC595A includes an 8-bit shift register and an 8-bit D-latch with three-state parallel outputs. This shift register accepts serial data and provides a serial output. This shift register also provides parallel data to the 8-bit latch. The shift register and latch have independent clock inputs. The device also features an asynchronous reset for the shift register. The HC595A interfaces directly with the SPI serial data ports on CMOS MPUs and MCUs.
