The NCP1060 integrates a fixed frequency current mode controller and 700 V MOSFETs. Available in PDIP™7 and SOIC-10 packages, the NCP1060 offers a high level of integration including soft start, frequency dithering, short circuit protection, cycle skipping, adjustable peak current set point, slope compensation and dynamic self-power supply (no auxiliary winding required). Unlike other monolithic solutions, the NCP1060 is noiseless: it switches at a usable frequency (65 or 100 kHz) during normal load operation. When the output power demand disappears, the IC will automatically enter frequency foldback mode, providing excellent energy efficiency at light loads. When power demand decreases further, it enters skip mode, reducing standby power consumption to no-load conditions. Protection features include: timers to detect overload or short circuit events, overvoltage protection with automatic recovery, and AC input line voltage detection (A version). ON Semiconductor's proprietary integrated Over Power Protection (OPP) allows you to take full advantage of the highest power available with only an external resistor, without compromising standby performance. The NCP1060/NCP1063 family can be used seamlessly in both non-isolated and isolated topologies.
