The NCP1587 and NCP1587A are low cost PWM controllers designed to operate from 5V or 12V supplies. These devices are capable of generating output voltages as low as 0.8V. These 8-pin devices offer the best level of integration to reduce the size and cost of power supplies. The NCP1587 and NCP1587A offer a 1A gate driver design with internally set 275kHz (NCP1587) and 200kHz (NCP1587A) oscillators. Other energy-efficiency-enhancing features of the gate driver include adaptive non-overlapping circuitry. The NCP1587 and NCP1587A also integrate an externally compensated error amplifier and capacitor-programmable soft-start. Protection features include programmable short-circuit protection and undervoltage lockout.
